Natural Language Processing

When you hear the term "Natural Language Processing," you might think of a computer system that can understand and respond to spoken or written words in human languages. But there's more to it than that.

Natural Language Processing (NLP) is the modern-day wonder which is shaping the literature of this day. Every day, new methods are being developed, which are getting better at generating text. Imagine one day you can get to see a movie which is written by AI. Well, the usage of Data Science in the entertainment industry is not new. We have seen the case study of Netflix using data to develop House of Cards, but let's discuss that story for some other day.

We are today talking about using AI for developing literature. And not like any literature. AI is enabling humans to create the masterpieces like Shakespeare and Dante. So what exactly is happening? The use of data science is helping us to get more insights into the works of Shakespeare, Dante and many other great writers. Pattern recognition is one such tool, which has been used to analyse and classify the text based on what has already been written by humans.

The use of advanced algorithms allows us to find out if the text is an epic poem or if it is a drama. Also, we can identify key elements like setting, characters and plot in a novel. This helps us to develop our works based on the existing literature.

We all love to read romantic short stories and poems. We also like to read about ordinary, but sometimes strange things. However, we don't always have time to spend in libraries. So, we have created our version of those books.

This is a collection of short stories and poems written by us that are suitable for reading in our spare moments while waiting for something important to happen on the screen.

This is not a story! It's a poem!

We've all seen how inspiring it is when people write poetry; however, many cannot even spell words correctly! This makes it so much harder for them to write beautiful poetry than others. But with artificial intelligence, you don't need to be an expert in poetry to create good poetry because your machine can do the hard work for you!

The following are some examples of poems written by AI that can help you improve your writing skills:

Although I'm sure there will be many more such examples, these are just a few that I found online.

The AI has already improved its ability to compose music by several times over what humans can do. The machines learn from their mistakes and they improve their skills over time (for instance they become better at composing songs). Machines also learn the language faster than humans do (especially if they have access to large amounts of data) so this means that computers can now understand human languages much better than before. Learning has become such an important component of one's life.

In this series of blogs, we will try to learn more about these methods. But first, let's see some content created by AI solely.

Through eternity shall she love you
to be too away is true for the light is a man in the sun
in the darkness of a room, I entered the purple city
I hear lake water lapping it that looks much fun
to be like a nickel for a terrible moment
early than the white cold old sun
NLP is a very young technology. It has only been around for a decade. In such a short time, it has already accomplished marvels that writers and poets could not even imagine; moreover, it can go on to accomplish much more. The possibilities are endless in this day and age. Even though writing programs like Wattpad are trying hard to match the geniuses of literature, they cannot perform with the precision that NLP possesses.

Well, if you can live with some grammatical errors and spelling mistakes, nothing comes close to a text composed by AI. Remember that this is just the beginning of the future form of literature. In the upcoming months and years, we will see more improvements and more polished products in the market which will leave very few options for humans to do any better than machines.

Let's dive deep into the world of the future and see how NLP can bring about changes in the literary world.
